Geek Advocate: The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus
Not even a zombie apocalypse can stop Norman Reedus. For lovers of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Reedus has not just created a key character, but one to root for and relate to. Since the series premiere of The Walking Dead in 2010, Daryl Dixon has become one of the biggest forces on the show. With his commitment to the role and creative additions to the character, Reedus has made Daryl Dixon the heartbeat of The Walking Dead community. This favorite character was not originally in the comic book series of the same name, but rather was created after Reedus’s audition for the character, Merle Dixon. After seeing his take on the character, creator Robert Kirkman didn’t only want to include Reedus in the show, but he wrote an entirely new character to incorporate the personality Reedus brought to his audition. Thus, Daryl Dixon was born.
